The health and safety of our attendees is at the core of the MidCamp Code of Conduct:
MidCamp is dedicated to a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and harassment-free conference experience for everyone.
MidCamp takes the safety of its sponsors, speakers, volunteers, and participants very seriously. It is incumbent on community-minded individuals like us to continue to prioritize the needs of those most vulnerable in our community.
MidCamp is a volunteer-organized event with a global draw and a local audience. We’ve adapted our policy from DrupalCon and other events. It reflects:
- our desire to create a safe and collaborative space for all,
- a realistic assessment of our limited resources, and
- trust in all involved to be considerate, welcoming, and respectful of the most vulnerable in our community.
Vaccination/Testing
We encourage all attendees to take the following prevention steps:
- If you feel sick, take a COVID-19 self-test prior to traveling to Chicago and after you return home. Remain at home if you test positive or feel ill.
- Stay home or in your hotel room if you experience any cold or flu-like symptoms.
Masking & Social Distancing
We ask that you respect those around you who choose to wear a mask.
NIOSH-approved N95 and KN95 masks will be available at the registration desk.
Speakers who are comfortable may remove their masks in order to make their presentations more accessible to attendees who may rely on lip-reading to improve their comprehension.
MidCamp will be providing buttons to attendees to note their social comfort level and we will be reducing the number of chairs in session rooms to allow for social distancing.
Venue
The DePaul University Student Center follows basic ASHRAE indoor air quality standards and has improved ventilation measures. Our organizing team will work to enhance those standards by opening windows wherever possible.
Hybrid involvement
MidCamp is a limited hybrid event, with some content being live and some being retroactive. All main conference sessions will be recorded and freely accessible via our YouTube channel 24-48 hours after their presentation.
MidCamp gave presenters the option to present remotely. Remotely presented sessions as well as selected additional sessions will be live-streamed during the event via the MidCamp YouTube.
No ticket will be required to access the hybrid experience.
As a reminder, when you purchased your ticket, you agreed to the MidCamp Code of Conduct and our conflict resolution process. You may request a full refund of your ticket at any time prior to the event by emailing [email protected].
