You may be familiar with Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions - scheduled times where conference attendees can propose topics for informal discussion or presentation. An unconference is much like that, except an unconference is built on the day of by the people who are there!
Instead of formal sessions, we'll build a series of discussions on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. If you’re unfamiliar with the unconference format, read about organizing and attending.
When the unconference part of the day happens, we will follow the "rules" of an unconference:
- Whoever shows up are the right people
- Whatever the results of a session were what was supposed to be
- Whenever it starts is the right time
- It is over when it’s over
Participants should use the "law of two feet" to leave any session if they aren't contributing something positive, getting something out of a session, or feel another session would be more to their liking.
Topic Submissions
Unlike a formal session submission, unconference topic submissions can be proposed by anyone attending the unconference. You can propose something you want to learn more about, a problem you want help solving, or a concept you want your Drupal friends to discuss.
All topics are valid and all the unconference attendees will select and help organize the discussions of the day. We'll spend 30 minutes or so brainstorming ideas, then break out into smaller groups to engage in discussions. At the end of the unconference, attendees will be encouraged to present short summaries of their discussions.
Due to the interactive nature of the unconference, we are only able to facilitate in-person participation.
